Myst Writing

Some of you are ready to put your published work on your blog.  (We will also publish a coloured copy for our class book).

Your writing should be the best you can achieve at the moment.  Remember, you are on a learning journey, so it doesn’t have to be perfect.  What’s perfect anyway?  However, make sure that you have corrected spelling mistakes and that it makes sense when it is read.  Check that you have read and responded to all my comments on your drafts. You could download a picture as well if you like!

When you publish on your blog, make sure you put a category on the post.  You do this when you are on the ‘draft writing page’. Look to the right of the screen and you will see ‘Categories’.  Add a category for Myst III and tick the box.  This will  help students and teachers find your work in a search.

Cake Stall

I am really looking forward to our cake stall tomorrow!  Remember to take your produce directly to the stall in the morning.  If the weather is really bad we will be in the hall.  If the weather is not too bad, but a bit drizzly, we will be on the hall steps.  If the weather is fine we will be out the front as planned.  Remember what I said this afternoon - if you are baking tonight - don’t leave the clean up all to your parents!

See you all bright and early!

This is the last week of a long but eventful term!  We have had PATs, Swimming, Camp, Life Education, Mice, the Wii, Myst III and lots more!  We have a few things to finish this week so that we will be ready to start a whole new term in a few weeks.

Maths - Statistics.  Data collection and graphs/displays

Writing- Editing Myst III writing.  The quality of the ideas and use of language features  (deeper features) is generally good, however the general structure (surface features) needs work.  Most people have forgotten fullstops, capital letters, have spelling errors and sentences that dont make sense!  We will work on this and get the writing ready for publishing by the end of the week.

Art - Finish crayon batik

Life Education - Continue with “It’s Great To Be Me’

Homework Week 11

Reading, Basic Facts and spelling as usual.

This week’s task:

Oops!  Here it is….forgot to save the last one :-)

1. Complete the statistical survey and bring it to school on Wednesday to use in our maths class!

2.  In your homework book, do a brainstorm to generate ideas for your science fair project next term.  This is not a decision making time - but an opportunity to explore possible topics and share  some ideas.  We will discuss on Friday - so you need to bring your homework books in on Friday. (I won’t be coming in on Monday - so you can have a holiday then too if you like!).

3. Show the Science Fair Schedule and learning intentions to your family!  Chat to them about your ideas.
