I had a very quick look through your writing samples today.  They look very good.   Wendy told me that she really enjoyed listening to you sharing your writing today and that the writing was of a very high standard.  Well done everyone.

Our next piece of writing will be a scientific report of an experiment.  We will be learning how to use appropriate scientific language within an appropriate format.

Mary chatted to me about your song writing that you are doing in music class.  I thought it would work well to write some poetry next week  - to tie in with song writing!  I will bring some poems and song lyrics to study on Monday.

Science

I found this video which is about the formation of a star - pretty much what we have been reading  about in Lucy and Stephen Hawkins’ novel.

We love your class blog. My students don’t have their own blogs yet, but they are posting on the class one. They love the comments section. One question. How did you get that site counter to work? I can’t quite seem to find where to paste the code.

And thanks for commenting on our site. My class is a grade 4 class. Most kids are 10. How old are your students? Do kids in New Zealand call teachers by their first names? We got our counter to work and our ClustrMap as well. It’s pretty blank right now though. We have done some podcasting type stuff using out class iMac. It’s easy with a Mac. Listen to our Earth Day public service announcements. But I hear that the Audacity software is easy to use. Another teacher in our school is experimenting with it.
